Human Rights Lawyer – Women’s Rights Advocacy (Remote)

About the role

The Women’s Resource Center NGO seeks a qualified lawyer to strengthen its advocacy on women’s rights and gender equality. Working remotely for 20 hours per week, you will monitor legislation, conduct legal analysis, and develop policy recommendations to influence national policies.

Key responsibilities

• Track Government sessions, draft legal acts, and parliamentary processes to identify initiatives affecting women’s rights and gender equality.
• Analyze draft and existing laws, secondary legislation, and state strategies from a human‑rights and gender‑sensitive perspective.
• Prepare legal observations, propose amendments, and draft policy briefs, recommendation packages, and position papers.
• Present recommendations to government bodies, the National Assembly, UN agencies, civil society, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor progress of relevant legislative initiatives and suggest engagement steps for the organization.
• Provide internal legal support, including reviewing contracts, policies, and other legal documents.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in human rights or women’s rights law.
• Experience with women’s labor rights, gender‑based violence, or sexual and reproductive rights is an asset.
• Ability to analyse Armenian legislation through a gender‑sensitive lens.
• Strong research skills and capacity to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Fluent in Armenian and English, both written and spoken.

What we offer
