Lead AI Automation Engineer

About the role

Digitain is looking for a Lead AI Automation Engineer to design and scale intelligent process‑automation solutions across the enterprise. You will own the end‑to‑end architecture of AI‑driven workflows that turn unstructured data into actionable business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and deploy resilient pipelines that combine Large Language Models, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, and custom AI tools with core systems.
• Lead large‑scale web scraping, API extraction, and document processing while handling anti‑bot measures and dynamic schemas.
• Build semantic search and entity‑resolution solutions using vector databases and embedding models.
• Design, evaluate, and optimise RAG frameworks to ground LLM outputs in proprietary knowledge bases.
• Implement NLP pipelines for classification, NER, sentiment analysis, and document parsing.
• Establish reliability standards, error‑handling, output validation, and latency optimisation.
• Mentor AI automation specialists, conduct code reviews, and define SOPs for API management and prompt engineering.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional leaders to identify high‑value automation opportunities and demonstrate ROI.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software, data, or process‑automation engineering experience.
• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience building AI/LLM‑powered automation systems.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects involving web scraping, NLP, and unstructured data.
