Lead AI Python Engineer

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Lead AI Python Engineer to head its Python AI Competence Center. You will tackle advanced technical challenges, drive generative‑AI innovation, and deliver AI‑powered solutions for client projects and internal products. The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in Armenia.

Key responsibilities

• Design AI‑driven applications using Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Architect scalable, cloud‑based infrastructures for AI solutions.
• Deploy optimized Large Language Models, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, and other generative‑AI features into production.
• Translate business requirements into robust AI solutions in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Write well‑documented, high‑quality code that follows industry standards.
• Adopt emerging technologies in Python, cloud platforms, and AI to foster continuous innovation.

Required profile

• Senior‑to‑architect level software development experience with hands‑on coding proficiency.
• Proven background in Python frameworks (Django, Flask, FastAPI) and integration of AI functionalities.
• Demonstrated production experience in generative AI, prompt engineering, and model fine‑tuning.
• Strong understanding of Large Language Models and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and collaborative teamwork experience.
• Effective communication skills for diverse technical audiences.
