Lead Python Engineer – AI/ML Systems

About the role

WorldQuant is looking for a Lead Python Engineer to drive the design and implementation of complex data pipelines and AI/ML systems. You will work within a small, high‑performing team that supports the firm’s systematic financial strategies and predictive signal generation.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable Python‑based data pipelines and AI/ML services.
• Provide technical leadership, set coding standards, and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Collaborate with researchers, analysts, and other engineers to translate business needs into robust software solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and integrate large language models (LLMs) where applicable.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a top‑tier institution.
• 7+ years of professional Python development experience, with a strong focus on data engineering and AI/ML.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and guide cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
