Senior 3rd Line / Software Maintenance Engineer

About the role

EPAM Armenia is looking for a Senior 3rd Line / Software Maintenance Engineer to join its global Cloud Hosting team. The role focuses on managing EKS clusters, building automation, and supporting internal APIs for cloud infrastructure services. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in Armenia while collaborating with teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Own the management of Amazon EKS clusters and related automation workflows.
• Develop stable, high‑quality code for automation scripts and internal customer‑facing APIs.
• Participate in on‑call rotation (approximately one week every 2‑3 months) to provide tier‑3 support for cloud services.
• Write and publish high‑level designs and developer documentation.
• Contribute to release planning, workload prioritisation, and capacity forecasting.
• Design solutions with privacy, security, compliance, high availability, performance and resilience in mind.
• Analyse requirements, evaluate alternatives and implement optimal solutions.
• Collaborate closely with customers to deliver fast feature releases and bug fixes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure development and automation.
• Strong communication skills and a client‑centric mindset.
• Proven ability to work independently and within distributed, multicultural teams.

• Python, Ruby or Bash scripting.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Kubernetes (EKS) and Terraform.
• AWS cloud services.
• Networking fundamentals.
• Docker containerisation.
• Ansible configuration management.
• MongoDB database knowledge.
