Senior Data Engineer, AI

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong AI expertise to join a fast‑moving team delivering AI‑driven solutions for an insurance client. The position is fully remote within Armenia, allowing you to work from anywhere in the country while collaborating with data scientists, actuaries and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end AI workflows that combine models, prompts, enterprise data and business logic.
• Develop and maintain prompt‑engineering strategies, including versioning, testing and optimisation.
• Build orchestration layers for multi‑step reasoning, decisioning and action execution.
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise systems, APIs and user interfaces.
• Apply guardrails to ensure safe, explainable and compliant AI behaviour.
• Create and maintain production‑grade AI deployment pipelines with a focus on reliability, scalability, latency optimisation and cost efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, observability and drift detection for AI services.
• Establish change‑control, versioning, rollback and release‑management practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists and business experts to validate model outputs.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering or AI engineering.
• Strong knowledge of MLOps practices and tools.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI solutions and prompt engineering.
• Solid understanding of SQL and data manipulation techniques.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise systems and APIs.
• Familiarity with monitoring, observability and governance for AI systems.
• Ability to work in large enterprise data ecosystems.
• Excellent communication skills in English (B2 level or higher).
