Senior Data Engineer – ClickHouse & AWS

About the role

Lineate is seeking a senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in ClickHouse and AWS to design and optimise high‑performance data infrastructure for large‑scale time‑series and real‑time workloads. You will work within a lakehouse environment, using Amazon S3 as the source of truth, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust analytics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and optimise ClickHouse for analytical and time‑series workloads at scale.
• Build and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Optimise ClickHouse schemas, partitioning, materialised views, aggregations and queries.
• Support real‑time and near‑real‑time query serving with high performance and reliability.
• Integrate ClickHouse with Snowflake, Databricks and other ecosystem components.
• Maintain ClickHouse infrastructure and BYOC deployments on AWS.
• Troubleshoot data ingestion, storage, scalability and performance issues.
• Own technical decisions and communicate solutions and trade‑offs to stakeholders.

Required profile

• 6+ years of data engineering experience.
• Production‑level expertise with ClickHouse, including data modelling, table engines, partitioning, ordering, materialised views and query optimisation.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS, especially Amazon S3.
• Experience with lakehouse‑style architectures and large‑scale time‑series or real‑time analytics.
• Proven performance‑tuning and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take technical ownership.
