Senior Data Software Engineer with Databricks, dbt, Data Quality

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Software Engineer to support and strengthen our Data & Analytics program. You will focus on scaling the Databricks platform, migrating workloads from Teradata, and ensuring high data quality through robust governance and incident resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support for the Data & Analytics team, triage and resolve stakeholder incidents.
• Diagnose and fix broken or failing dbt models, handling compilation errors, test failures, schema drift, and stale dependencies.
• Monitor, debug, and repair Databricks workflows and jobs, addressing failed runs, cluster issues, and scheduling problems.
• Investigate data quality issues and pipeline failures, identify root causes, and apply fixes.
• Maintain and improve dbt tests, documentation, and model configurations.
• Respond to ad‑hoc requests for data fixes, backfills, or re‑runs.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to prevent recurring issues by enhancing alerting, adding tests, and refactoring fragile models.
• Keep runbooks and support documentation up to date.
• Escalate complex issues appropriately while owning resolution end‑to‑end.

Required profile

• 3+ years of practical experience with dbt (models, tests, macros, debugging).
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks notebooks, jobs/workflows, clusters, and basic troubleshooting.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to read and modify transformation logic.
• Familiarity with git‑based workflows, pull‑requests, and version control.
• Proactive troubleshooting mindset and ownership of issues through to resolution.
• Effective communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• English proficiency at B2+ level.
