Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Align Technology is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join its R&D team in Yerevan. You will work on automating orthodontic treatment planning by developing, validating and deploying advanced ML models that process 3D geometry, text and tabular data.

Key responsibilities

• Translate loosely defined business requests into concrete ML problems and select appropriate toolsets.
• Design, implement and train deep‑learning models for diverse data sources such as 3D meshes, free‑form text and structured tables.
• Validate model performance, conduct analysis and iterate improvements.
• Collaborate with software engineers on solution architecture and integrate models into production pipelines.
• Document methodologies and transfer knowledge to product groups.
• Own specific ML components, ensuring their maintenance and continuous enhancement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning or a related field.
• 8+ years of hands‑on experience developing deep‑learning solutions for commercial projects, preferably in computer‑vision tasks.
• Strong mathematical foundation covering optimization, Bayesian methods, linear algebra and analytic geometry.
• Proficiency in English (minimum B2) and excellent communication skills.
