Senior QA Engineer – Java & Spark SQL

About the role

We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer with deep Java expertise and strong Spark SQL skills to ensure the reliability of Java‑based applications and large‑scale data pipelines. You will work at the intersection of traditional software testing and big‑data validation, supporting critical analytics platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute, and maintain test strategies for Java applications and data pipelines.
• Validate data integrity and correctness across massive datasets using Spark SQL and complex aggregations.
• Write and run advanced SQL queries to verify data outputs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify, document, and resolve quality issues.
• Participate in requirements gathering and translate business needs into test scenarios.
• Support database migration validation and API response testing as needed.
• Attend occasional late‑hour meetings to coordinate with distributed teams.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Java (or basic Scala with a solid Java background).
• Significant experience in quality/test engineering.
• Excellent skills in querying and understanding relational databases.
• Hands‑on expertise with Spark SQL, especially aggregations.
• Theoretical knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem.
• Familiarity with Spark and Apache Airflow concepts.
