Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer – Chatbots & AI

About the role

We are looking for a senior backend engineer to join Workato’s Workbot team, building the next generation of interactive chat‑bots for Slack and Microsoft Teams. The role is fully remote and combines complex Ruby on Rails development with cutting‑edge conversational AI platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain complex Ruby on Rails services within the Workato platform.
• Research and stay up‑to‑date with Slack and Microsoft Teams ecosystems, tracking trends and changes.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment.
• Write clean, testable, and efficient code and ensure high‑quality releases.
• Evaluate existing systems, propose improvements and present architectural alternatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience building, shipping and maintaining Rails applications.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming and software design.
