Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join Pragmatike’s fully remote team. The role focuses on designing, operating, and scaling Linux‑based cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters across bare‑metal, virtualized and on‑prem environments. You will collaborate with development and customer‑success teams to ensure high availability, low latency, and continuous improvement of our cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Debian/Ubuntu Linux infrastructure.
• Deploy, manage, and scale Kubernetes clusters on bare‑metal, virtualized and on‑prem platforms.
• Handle full cluster lifecycle: upgrades, node pools, networking, storage, and security hardening.
• Automate provisioning and operations using Ansible, Bash/Python and GitOps workflows.
• Design and maintain complex networking architecture (VLANs, L2/L3 routing, VPNs, multi‑site connectivity).
• Build automated deployment pipelines (PXE boot, Preseed, cloud‑init).
• Deploy and maintain observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK or Graylog.
• Lead incident response, define SLOs/SLIs and improve system availability.
• Establish on‑call schedules and develop SOPs for repeatable tasks.
• Coordinate physical maintenance for Policlouds and manage virtualization/orchestration layers (OpenStack, Proxmox, VMware).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to plan resources and optimize architecture.

Required profile

• Expert‑level, hands‑on experience operating Kubernetes in production.
• Strong network engineering skills (VLANs, L2/L3 routing, VPNs, multi‑site connectivity).
• Deep Linux systems administration expertise (Debian/Ubuntu).
• Proven ability to design complex network architectures.
• Experience building automation workflows with Ansible, Bash/Python and Git‑based tools.
• Background with observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Loki, Graylog).
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (OpenStack, Proxmox, VMware).
• Experience with bare‑metal provisioning and MAAS (Metal as a Service).
