Senior Staff Engineer – Solutions Engineering (3DIC Optical Interconnects)

About the role

Synopsys is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for Solutions Engineering to drive product development of IP compilers that enable embedded monitoring, test, diagnostic, and repair for 3DIC optical interconnects. The role sits at the intersection of optical, electrical, thermal, and mechanical domains, delivering production‑ready solutions for next‑generation co‑packaged optics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement IP compilers for embedded monitoring, test, diagnostic, and repair targeting 3DIC optical interconnects within the SMS/SHS portfolio.
• Build and maintain a multiphysics simulation bridge with Ansys, ensuring seamless integration.
• Apply expertise in optical/photonics chip design, co‑packaged opto‑electronic systems, and test frameworks to create robust solutions.
• Develop and refine IC design flows using Verilog and SystemVerilog, aligning with EDA toolchains and AI‑assisted methodologies.
• Lead technical discussions, mentor engineering team members, and make decisions that balance innovation with long‑term maintainability.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in optical interconnects, 3DIC integration, and embedded test solutions.
• Strong background in multiphysics simulation and collaboration with tools such as Ansys.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to mentor engineers.
• Experience delivering production‑ready IP and maintaining high product quality.
