Senior Web Application Security Engineer

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Senior Web Application Security Engineer to strengthen the client’s security posture. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in Armenia while collaborating closely with a global security team.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, tune, and maintain Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules and policies using Akamai technologies.
• Participate in security incident handling, investigation, and resolution for web‑application threats.
• Conduct regular reviews of WAF configurations, security policies, and overall web‑application security posture.
• Identify and analyse attack patterns, anomalies, and vulnerabilities targeting web applications.
• Provide day‑to‑day support and share best practices with the broader security team.
• Assist in integrating security processes across the organization.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Akamai WAF solutions (Kona Site Defender or similar).
• Strong knowledge of web‑application security concepts such as OWASP Top 10, DDoS mitigation, and bot management.
• Proven experience in WAF rule tuning, false‑positive management, and security incident response.
• Ability to work independently and integrate quickly into an existing team.
• Excellent English communication skills.
