Sr. Java Engineer

About the role

This senior position joins the Clinical OPS Services team to design, develop, and maintain a critical workflow controller application. The role works closely with product, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable Java solutions that support evolving business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Engineering Manager in implementing incremental changes to the main workflow controller application.
• Design, develop, and enhance Java‑based features ensuring high quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Analyze existing systems, investigate dependencies, and identify opportunities for refactoring and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, SQA engineers, and cross‑functional teams to refine requirements and deliver well‑validated features.
• Maintain code health by addressing technical debt, conducting code reviews, and sharing knowledge.
• Monitor application performance and stability, proactively implementing improvements.
• Assist with release processes, troubleshooting, and post‑deployment support.

Required profile

• Computer Science or related degree with at least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, and software testing practices.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and a customer‑focused mindset.
• Upper‑intermediate English proficiency.
