Staff Engineer – Remote (Worldwide)

About the role

TuxCare is seeking a hands‑on Staff Engineer to help build new security products for enterprise Linux environments. The position is fully remote and combines deep technical execution with product ownership, allowing you to shape major components from concept to production.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end product components and workstreams, from discovery through production release and ongoing improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, sales and other stakeholders to gather and clarify business and technical requirements.
• Translate broad or ambiguous goals into concrete technical plans, milestones and actionable tasks.
• Design scalable system architecture and make high‑impact technical decisions.
• Develop, review and maintain production‑grade code, ensuring reliability, security, performance and extensibility.
• Monitor components in production, handling operations, evolution and incident response.
• Communicate progress, blockers, risks and dependencies proactively.
• Research emerging technologies, tools and competitor solutions as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering major projects or workstreams end‑to‑end.
• Strong backend engineering background with hands‑on expertise in Python, Go or Java.
• Solid system design and architectural thinking, coupled with the ability to implement solutions.
• Experience gathering, refining and translating unclear requirements into technical specifications.
• Self‑starter who can work independently and drive large‑scale initiatives without constant managerial direction.
