Web Developer Volunteer

About the role

É collective is an interdisciplinary artist collective that merges art, science, and indigenous knowledge. As a Web Developer Volunteer, you will help bring the collective’s experimental projects to life on the web, creating responsive sites, interactive experiences, and digital artworks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive websites and web‑based platforms that showcase artistic and research projects.
• Translate design concepts into functional, accessible user interfaces.
• Integrate APIs, databases, and other web technologies as needed.
• Experiment with creative coding tools such as WebGL, Three.js, and generative art libraries.
• Collaborate with artists, researchers, designers, and other developers, iterating based on feedback.

Required profile

• Curiosity, willingness to experiment, and a strong desire to learn.
• Interest in art, nature, science, technology, and community‑based research.
• Open‑minded attitude toward interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Git and GitHub workflow
• React.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks (highly valued)
• Basic knowledge of backend development, APIs, databases, or server‑side technologies (a plus)
• Experience with WebGL, Three.js, creative coding, or generative art (strong bonus)
• Familiarity with Web3, blockchain, or decentralized applications (especially exciting)
