Brand & Communications Strategist (Volunteer)

About the role

As a Brand & Communications Strategist Volunteer at É collective, you will help shape how the collective communicates and presents itself to the world. Working with an emerging identity, projects, values, and ideas, you will make the brand clear, distinctive, memorable, and coherent.

Key responsibilities

• Discuss and explore what É collective is, its aspirations, and its target audiences.
• Define and develop the brand voice, storytelling framework, and overall communication style.
• Create a practical social‑media and marketing approach, including content themes and community‑building tactics.
• Collaborate with team members to question existing concepts, identify unique attributes, and turn ideas into actionable communication directions.
• Support the collective in building a recognizable presence and narrative across channels.

Required profile

• Interest or experience in brand strategy, communications, marketing, storytelling, or creative strategy.
• Ability to think conceptually and identify what makes an organisation distinctive.
• Strong communication and discussion skills, with a willingness to ask questions and challenge ideas.
• Understanding of social media as a tool for building recognition and community.
• Interest in art, nature, science, indigenous knowledge, heritage, ecology, or community‑based research.
• Strategic thinking combined with creativity and curiosity.
• Relevant education or self‑taught background in branding, marketing, communication, design, or related fields.
