Compliance Officer

About the role

The Compliance Officer will lead the continuous improvement of internal regulations governing compliance‑related risk management within a leading Armenian bank. This role ensures adherence to legal, regulatory and ethical standards while supporting the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify compliance risks, propose corrective actions and develop implementation plans.
• Organise risk assessment and management processes to ensure compliance with main legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor adherence to the bank’s ethical corporate culture and report findings to senior management.
• Maintain communication with the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia and, when required, with law‑enforcement or international bodies.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise the Compliance Department, including performance monitoring of staff.

Required profile

• Excellent knowledge of Armenian banking legislation and international AML/CFT regulations.
• At least 5 years of experience in the financial or banking sector, preferably in a managerial capacity.
• Strong analytical abilities, initiative, and the capacity to work under pressure.
• Fluent in Armenian with good command of Russian and English; additional language proficiency is a plus.
