Deputy General Counsel

About the role

SoftConstruct is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to support the General Counsel in shaping legal strategy, managing risk, and ensuring compliance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement legal strategy aligned with business objectives while minimizing legal risks.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks related to corporate operations, transactions, and regulatory changes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Develop and enforce internal policies, legal guidelines, and corporate governance frameworks.
• Monitor legislative developments and provide updates on regulatory changes.
• Support oversight of ethics and compliance programs.
• Assist in leading and managing the legal department, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluation of staff.
• Review work of in‑house legal professionals for accuracy and policy compliance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law (or Bachelor’s with strong academic credentials).
• Minimum 10 years of corporate legal advisory, contract negotiation, and compliance experience.
• At least 5 years in a legal leadership, supervisory, or senior management role.
• Deep operational experience in corporate law, commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Proven leadership in supervising legal professionals and managing corporate legal operations.
• Excellent proficiency in Armenian, English, and Russian.
• Experience in international corporate environments is an advantage.
