Director of AI Data Center Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, forward‑thinking Director of AI Data Center Operations to lead our 5 MW ultra‑dense compute footprint. This senior position owns the physical deployment, thermal management, and day‑to‑day efficiency of liquid‑cooled GPU clusters supporting enterprise AI workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design, operation, and maintenance of direct‑to‑chip liquid cooling loops, CDUs and secondary heat exchangers.
• Optimize rack‑level power distribution for ultra‑dense racks (60‑100 kW+ per rack) and drive continuous PUE improvement.
• Manage SLA relationships with colocation partners, ensuring power, cooling, security and uptime commitments.
• Direct hardware lifecycle logistics, including staging, installation and decommissioning of NVIDIA DGX/Blackwell/Hopper systems.
• Collaborate with network architecture teams to integrate high‑bandwidth InfiniBand/RoCEv2 fabrics.

Required profile

• 7+ years in data‑center operations, HPC or critical facilities engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Deep expertise in liquid‑cooling technologies (direct‑to‑chip loops, CDUs, rear‑door heat exchangers) and MEP design.
• Proven experience negotiating and managing colocation contracts, SLAs and MSAs.
• Hands‑on experience transitioning legacy air‑cooled environments to hybrid or full liquid‑cooled architectures.

Required skills

• Liquid‑cooling systems (DLC loops, CDUs, RDHx)
• High‑density GPU hardware (NVIDIA HGX/DGX, liquid‑cooled chassis)
• Container orchestration (Kubernetes) and AI scheduling (Slurm)
• Network fabrics (InfiniBand, RoCEv2)
• Power distribution and PUE optimization
