Engineering Manager – Distributed P2P Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team building the core distributed systems behind a decentralized compute and storage platform. The role combines people leadership with deep technical ownership, allowing you to shape architecture, guide execution, and stay hands‑on with critical production code.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow senior engineers working on P2P networking, distributed storage and compute orchestration.
• Define and drive the technical direction of core P2P, compute and platform services.
• Stay hands‑on with architecture, design, implementation and production troubleshooting.
• Champion reliability, observability and production readiness across the platform.
• Establish engineering practices around testing, CI/CD, releases and incident response.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Product, Security and Platform teams on roadmaps and cross‑team dependencies.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in an engineering manager or technical leadership role.
• Proven track record delivering distributed or infrastructure software to production.
• Strong understanding of P2P concepts such as peer discovery, DHTs, gossip protocols, NAT traversal and consensus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a remote, async environment.

Required skills

• Go (or C/C++/Rust) for backend and systems programming.
• Experience with libp2p, gRPC, Protobuf, IPFS/CIDs.
• Kubernetes and containerized infrastructure.
• Observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing.
• Linux systems and networking fundamentals.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
