Engineering Manager (ML)

About the role

Tabby is building a marketplace where AI enriches a catalogue of 25M+ products. As Engineering Manager (ML) you will lead a cross‑functional team that owns the LLM‑based enrichment pipeline, item embeddings, and ML‑assisted moderation, delivering high‑quality data for search and recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end product data pipeline – from feed ingestion through ML enrichment, moderation and publication, ensuring freshness, coverage and quality.
• Lead the ML roadmap for catalogue intelligence, including category tree, attribute coverage, translation quality, and recommendation models.
• Drive large cross‑team projects to production, define OKRs, and report on catalogue quality and personalisation.
• Review feature designs, manage technical debt, and oversee incident handling across ML and backend services.
• Hire, mentor and grow ML engineers, fostering a results‑oriented, business‑focused culture.

Required profile

• 6+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years building production ML systems (NLP, LLMs, embeddings, classification at scale).
• 2+ years as an Engineering Manager or ML Team Lead in a fast‑growing e‑commerce, marketplace or fintech environment.
• Hands‑on experience shipping LLM‑based products, including prompt design, fine‑tuning, evaluation, cost and latency control.
• Strong backend fundamentals, comfortable reviewing Go and Python services and reasoning about distributed systems.
• Proactive, independent, with strong English communication skills (B2+).
