Founding AI Voice Engineer

About the role

We are building a voice‑first AI companion that provides mental‑health support and personal‑development guidance to anyone with a smartphone. As the founding AI Voice Engineer you will create the core voice‑AI technology from scratch and take it from prototype to production at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship iOS and Android applications that host real‑time voice‑to‑voice AI agents.
• Build and integrate speech‑to‑speech, speech‑to‑text (STT) and text‑to‑speech (TTS) pipelines with large language models (LLMs) and voice models.
• Create retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), memory and context management systems for affective, full‑duplex dialogue.
• Define AI personas, conversational logic and safety guardrails in collaboration with mental‑health experts.
• Implement monitoring, evaluation and testing frameworks to ensure reliability and quality.
• Own backend infrastructure, deployment pipelines and optimise latency, inference cost and overall performance.
• Scale the system from prototype through production, handling long, dynamic conversations in real‑time.

Required profile

• Proven experience building real‑time speech‑to‑speech or voice‑to‑voice AI agents and deploying them in production.
• Hands‑on work with STT, TTS, LLM orchestration, RAG, memory and context management.
• Track record of solving latency, turn‑taking and streaming challenges for voice applications.
• Experience owning end‑to‑end systems including deployment, monitoring, reliability and scaling.
