International Consultant – Migration & Asylum Strategy

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks an experienced consultant to provide technical guidance on finalising Armenia’s Migration and Asylum Strategy. Working under the Head of Office and Programme Officer, the consultant will ensure the strategy aligns with EU acquis, international standards and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Review and revise the draft Migration and Asylum Strategy, ensuring coherence with EU acquis and migration governance standards.
• Conduct a comprehensive document review of related reports on migration, asylum, visas, residence and citizenship.
• Advise on the overall structure and strategic framework of the strategy, providing clear recommendations.
• Facilitate consultations with internal and external stakeholders in Armenia and abroad, incorporating feedback into the final document.
• Deliver the revised strategy and supporting documentation by 25 November 2026.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in international relations, law, migration, security or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in migration policy, including reviewing regulatory frameworks and EU acquis.
• Proven experience working with public administration, governmental institutions and international organisations.
• Fluency in English (oral and written).
