Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to drive the design, implementation, and optimisation of our cloud infrastructure. You will shape DevOps strategy, mentor engineers, and ensure secure, scalable, and resilient AWS environments for multiple customers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute CI/CD strategy across several applications and teams, championing automation-first practices.
• Lead complex cloud migration initiatives, balancing cost, performance and risk.
• Architect, build and maintain secure, highly‑available AWS environments for multiple projects.
• Set and evolve Infrastructure‑as‑Code standards using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Act as technical escalation point for CI/CD pipelines and IaC practices.
• Define monitoring, observability and cost‑optimisation strategies.
• Own end‑to‑end release processes to ensure reliable deployments.
• Mentor and grow engineers, conduct technical reviews and support professional development.
• Participate in architectural decision‑making and represent DevOps in client discussions.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience managing AWS production systems.
• At least 2 years in a technical leadership or lead role.
• Proven experience architecting and operating Kubernetes (EKS) at scale.
• Strong background in CI/CD implementation using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline.

• AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS, VPC, CloudFormation, IAM.
• AWS networking: Route 53, Direct Connect, Load Balancer, API Gateway, Security Groups.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation.
• Container orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS).
• CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline.
• Monitoring/observability: CloudWatch, DataDog, Prometheus.
• Cloud security best practices: IAM, encryption, secure access control.
