Mid-Level Systems Design Architecture Engineer

About the role

Emerson is hiring a mid-level Systems Design Architecture Engineer on a temporary contract of 1 year. The role covers the design, implementation and sustainment of custom integrated system solutions, from estimating customer needs to reviewing technical deliverables and building reusable software libraries.

Key responsibilities

• Identify customer needs accurately and develop estimates for integrated system solutions.
• Collaborate with customers, NI teams, external partners and suppliers to design, implement and sustain custom solutions.
• Contribute to the high-level design and architecture of integrated system solutions.
• Ensure compliance with custom solution development processes, new product introduction requirements and engineering standards.
• Review technical deliverables and give constructive feedback to support engineering excellence and knowledge sharing.
• Design, develop and maintain reusable software libraries and APIs used across multiple projects and applications.
• Partner with senior engineers on optimal technical solutions for complex project challenges.
• Perform software engineering activities including development, testing, documentation, code reviews and technical analysis.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that raise solution quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Experience in software development, system integration, test and measurement or a related engineering environment.
• Knowledge of NI products, platforms and integrated solution technologies.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders; willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
• Professional English at B2 level or higher.

Preferred qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering, electronics, computer architecture and systems engineering.
• Software development experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, C or C++.
• Experience with large-scale integrated systems and systems design methodologies.
