Product Owner - Innovation Team (Remote)

About the role

CloudLinux makes Imunify360, a suite of security products for web hosting, and CloudLinux OS, the operating system behind much of the world's shared hosting. It runs a small innovation team that turns new product concepts into working MVPs in customers' hands, then passes proven products to an established product line. The Product Owner leads this fully remote, senior squad of engineers, owning the pipeline of ideas, the speed and rigour of testing and the evidence behind every go/no-go decision. The role is hands-on: about half discovery and leadership, half building prototypes, spikes, design and code review.

Key responsibilities

• Run the pipeline of product concepts: capture, size and rank ideas with assumptions written down, and keep the backlog visible to the CPO and leadership
• Take each funded concept to a working MVP on a fixed timebox (typically one quarter), with a named customer or design partner testing it
• Define success criteria up front and report against real numbers such as usage, conversion and willingness to pay
• Make honest go/no-go calls, hand proven products to a product line with a written runbook and roadmap, and report status and risk weekly
• Choose the fastest credible build (buy, borrow, open source or write) and build prototypes and demo stands yourself where needed
• Keep MVPs production-ready on real customer servers, with packaging, safe rollout, rollback and observability
• Lead a small distributed team: 1:1s, goal setting, performance reviews, hiring and mentoring engineers
• Model and coach the use of AI coding agents for prototyping, test corpora and customer-facing material

Required profile

• 5+ years as a software engineer, with 2+ years leading a small team (team lead, tech lead, founder or engineering manager) building new products in a product company or startup
• Track record of taking at least one product from concept to first paying customers, and of stopping one that did not work
• Strong Linux proficiency at a software engineer level
• Practical product discovery skills: customer interviews, assumption mapping, pricing experiments, reading usage and conversion data
• Demonstrated people leadership and experience in an AI-assisted development workflow
• Professional English, written and spoken, and availability to work EU hours

Required skills

• Building and reviewing code in a modern language (Python, Go, TypeScript)
• Nice to have: web hosting tools (cPanel/WHM, Plesk, DirectAdmin), security products, freemium or product-led growth models, Node.js or Python ecosystems, and customer presentation experience
