Senior Java Engineer – Architect Level

About the role

Lineate is seeking a Senior Java Engineer with architect‑level expertise to design and build high‑performance backend services for AI‑driven solutions across FinTech, HealthTech, and AdTech domains. You will work remotely while overlapping with the New York team during core business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java and Spring Boot microservices, leveraging RxJava, Redis, MySQL, and Apache Kafka.
• Own complex technical challenges from problem identification through production delivery, including performance tuning and fault tolerance.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, improve system reliability, and drive engineering initiatives.
• Develop and optimize APIs, event‑driven integrations, and search functionalities using technologies such as Vespa, Elasticsearch, and OpenSearch.
• Troubleshoot production issues, conduct code reviews, and participate in technical planning sessions.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience with deep Java and Spring Boot expertise.
• Architect‑level knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Proven ability to design complex backend architectures and make sound technical decisions.
• Self‑driven mindset with a proactive approach to identifying problems and delivering solutions.
