Staff C++ Software Engineer

About the role

AMD is seeking a Staff C++ Software Engineer to improve the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will join a core team of industry specialists, working with the latest hardware and software technologies to drive innovation across AI, data centers, PCs, gaming, and embedded systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with AMD architecture specialists to enhance future products.
• Apply a data‑driven approach to target optimization efforts.
• Stay informed of software and hardware trends, especially in algorithms and architecture.
• Design and develop groundbreaking AMD technologies.
• Participate in new FPGA and device bring‑ups.
• Debug and fix existing issues while researching more efficient solutions.
• Develop technical relationships with peers and partners.

Required profile

• Passionate about software engineering with strong leadership abilities to resolve complex issues.
• Effective communicator able to work across diverse AMD teams.

Required skills

• Expert‑level object‑oriented programming in C/C++.
• Ability to write high‑quality code with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs.
• Experience developing for Windows, Linux and/or Android operating systems.
• Familiarity with software development tools such as debuggers, source‑code control (GitHub) and profilers (plus is a plus).
