Data Protection Officer – Legal Directorate

About the role

Digitain is seeking a Data Protection Officer to join its Legal Directorate. The DPO will ensure that the company’s data processing activities and privacy practices meet the highest legal, regulatory and ethical standards across all jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, review and advise on Digitain’s data protection policies, practices and procedures.
• Provide guidance on compliance with GDPR and other applicable data protection laws.
• Advise management and internal teams on data privacy risks, mitigation strategies and recommended actions.
• Handle data subject requests, including access, correction and deletion.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on international, regional and local data protection legislation.
• Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate lawful cross‑border data transfers.
• Maintain records, documentation and reporting in line with internal policies and legal requirements.
• Undertake additional tasks and projects to support business objectives.

Required profile

• LL.B. or LL.M. degree in Law or a comparable legal qualification.
• 6–9 years of experience in data protection, privacy law or related compliance roles.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR, local data protection laws and international privacy frameworks.
• Proven experience conducting data protection risk assessments, audits and privacy compliance programmes.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Russian.
• Excellent analytical, drafting and problem‑solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills, able to handle multiple priorities.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and capable of operating under pressure.

Required skills

• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E or CIPP/A).
• Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) or equivalent data‑privacy certifications.
