Entry Systems Design Architecture Engineer

About the role

Emerson is hiring an Entry Systems Design Architecture Engineer on a temporary contract of 1 year. The role turns customer requirements into robust integrated system architectures, develops solution concepts and designs, and works closely with customers, engineering teams, partners and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze customer requirements and turn business and technical needs into integrated system architectures.
• Develop solution concepts, system designs and technical estimates for custom integrated solutions.
• Collaborate with customers, internal engineering teams, external partners and suppliers throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Lead high-level architecture and design activities to ensure scalable, maintainable and high-performing solutions.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, development processes and new product introduction practices.
• Evaluate design alternatives and recommend technical approaches based on quality, performance, cost and risk.
• Review technical deliverables and give constructive feedback to engineering teams.
• Promote reusable frameworks, software libraries, interfaces and architectural best practices.
• Support software engineering and system development, including documentation, technical reviews, integration planning and validation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Experience designing, developing or architecting complex software, hardware or integrated system solutions.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering, solution architecture and system integration.
• Ability to analyze customer requirements and evaluate technical trade-offs.
• Knowledge of software development, lifecycle methodologies, engineering processes and quality practices.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration and stakeholder management skills; able to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Availability to work on a temporary contract of 1 year.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience architecting industrial automation, test and measurement, embedded, control or integrated software systems.
• Knowledge of cloud-connected systems, distributed architectures or edge computing.
• Experience defining reusable platforms, frameworks, APIs or reference architectures.
• Familiarity with system modeling, requirements management and architecture documentation.
• Experience supporting new product introduction and product lifecycle management.
• Leadership in cross-functional technical initiatives or architecture reviews.
• Experience in global engineering environments and distributed teams.
