Lead Android Engineer – Remote (EMEA)

About the role

Pragmatike is recruiting for a European deep‑tech company that builds a decentralized, energy‑efficient alternative to traditional cloud providers. They need a senior‑level Android engineer to design and evolve high‑performance Android applications that interact with their distributed cloud platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑performance Android applications using Kotlin.
• Architect scalable, maintainable mobile solutions with a focus on performance and battery efficiency.
• Build intuitive, responsive UIs following modern Android design principles.
• Integrate apps with backend services, ensuring efficient data synchronization, offline support, and network resilience.
• Maintain code quality through testing, documentation, and code reviews.
• Own the full mobile lifecycle from development to Play Store deployment.
• Collaborate with backend, infrastructure, and product teams for seamless integration.
• Implement mobile security best practices and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• 5–6+ years of experience as a Senior or Lead Android Engineer.
• Strong expertise in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Proven experience with modern Android architectures such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Deep understanding of Android performance optimization, lifecycle management, and memory handling.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs using Coroutines, Flow, and handling asynchronous programming.
• Ability to work in Agile teams and influence technical direction.
