Lead Python Test Automation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead QA Automation Engineer with strong Python expertise and hands‑on experience in AI‑assisted engineering practices. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in Armenia while driving QA initiatives and improving the testing lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated tests for user‑facing and back‑office applications using Python and Pytest.
• Develop UI and REST API automation, expanding coverage across multiple application layers.
• Apply AI‑assisted engineering practices to test analysis, scenario design, automation development and documentation.
• Decompose complex QA tasks into structured steps suitable for AI‑assisted workflows and manage related artifacts.
• Analyze requirements, identify gaps and translate them into clear, testable scenarios following Specification‑Driven Development principles.
• Critically evaluate AI‑generated output for correctness, quality and applicability.
• Work with databases, perform SQL queries and validate data programmatically.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers and stakeholders to introduce sustainable QA approaches and take ownership of QA initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience with Python and test automation.
• Hands‑on experience with Pytest, Pydantic and Requests.
• Experience in UI automation using Page Object Model, CSS selectors and XPath.
• Proficiency in REST API testing and Allure reporting.
• Practical understanding of modern LLMs, their capabilities, limitations and guardrails.
• Ability to structure and decompose tasks for effective AI‑assisted execution.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• High level of ownership, initiative and ability to work independently.
