Mid+ QA Automation Engineer (Playwright / Web & Mobile)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to ensure our consumer‑facing web platforms, internal admin tools and mobile applications work as intended on every release. The role will start with automating a complex travel‑booking platform and will evolve across projects while mentoring manual QA staff.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor manual QA engineers, design learning paths and pair on automation tasks using TypeScript and Playwright.
• Design, write and maintain scalable end‑to‑end tests for web and admin interfaces.
• Define test strategy, coverage and decide the appropriate level (UI, API, contract) for critical journeys such as sign‑in, search and checkout.
• Keep test suites running on every pull request in CI, eliminate flaky tests and own release sign‑off.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering to turn requirements into clear acceptance criteria and raise testability concerns early.

Required profile

• 4+ years of QA automation experience on production web applications.
• Proven experience upskilling manual QA teams into automation roles.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern test architecture (fixtures, page objects, test data management).
• Professional working English with clear, reproducible bug reports.

Required skills

• Playwright (fixtures, network interception, mocking, parallel execution).
• TypeScript.
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar).
• REST API testing and contract reading.
• Mobile automation tools (Appium, Maestro, Detox, XCUITest, Espresso) – preferred.
• Service virtualization, mocking and handling asynchronous third‑party behavior.
