PostgreSQL & ClickHouse Database Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a PostgreSQL & ClickHouse Database Administrator to ensure the reliability, availability, security, performance, and recoverability of the Bank’s database platforms. The role will initially focus on the Bank’s BPM and Data Warehouse/Enterprise Data Management environments and will expand to support PostgreSQL and ClickHouse across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure, upgrade, patch, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL and ClickHouse databases, clusters, and related services.
• Manage users, roles, permissions, RBAC, encryption, SSL/TLS, and secure connectivity in line with security requirements.
• Implement and maintain high‑availability, replication, clustering, and disaster‑recovery solutions such as Patroni, PgBouncer, Streaming Replication, ClickHouse Keeper/ZooKeeper, ReplicatedMergeTree, and sharding.
• Automate backup, recovery, and DR procedures using WAL‑G, pgBackRest, and clickhouse‑backup, including regular recovery testing.
• Monitor health, performance, resource utilization and capacity, proactively resolving reliability issues.
• Perform query analysis, indexing, storage optimisation, and capacity planning for both PostgreSQL and ClickHouse workloads.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, replication failures, performance degradation and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Support the OLTP → CDC/Kafka → OLAP/ClickHouse data pipeline, ensuring data consistency and handling failures.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience administering production PostgreSQL and/or ClickHouse environments.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL clustering, replication, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
• Practical knowledge of ClickHouse administration, including clustering, replication and analytical workload optimisation.
• Strong Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS) covering system parameters, storage and I/O performance.
• Understanding of high‑availability, disaster‑recovery principles and related technologies.
• Familiarity with the OLTP → CDC → Kafka → OLAP/ClickHouse architecture.
• Knowledge of database security controls such as RBAC, encryption and SSL/TLS.
• Higher technical education or equivalent professional experience.
