Principal Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned technical leader to define and deliver the technical vision for a key domain within our platform that powers thousands of home and commercial service businesses. The role sits at the intersection of architecture and execution, allowing you to shape large‑scale SaaS initiatives while staying hands‑on with code.

Key responsibilities

• Define a multi‑year technical roadmap, write production code, and own end‑to‑end quality and outcomes.
• Produce complete system designs, lead implementation, and make architectural decisions around scale, reliability, and security.
• Set engineering standards through code reviews, architecture reviews, and risk identification.
• Identify and create reusable patterns to reduce duplication across teams.
• Coach and mentor senior engineers, run knowledge‑sharing sessions, and elevate overall engineering capability.
• Partner with leadership on roadmap and resource planning, advocating for non‑functional requirements.
• Participate in recruiting senior technical talent and uphold engineering hiring standards.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience building large‑scale enterprise web or SaaS applications.
• 7+ years in senior individual contributor roles designing systems used by other engineers at scale.
• Proven track record of delivering complex, production‑ready solutions and influencing technical direction.
