AI Automation Engineer

About the role

SoftConstruct is looking for an AI Automation Engineer to join its AI Center of Excellence. You will design and deliver production‑grade AI agents and automation services that power data pipelines and integrate with external tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement production‑grade AI agents and robust automation services.
• Create data pipelines for extraction and LLM‑driven transformation.
• Integrate with external tools and APIs such as web parsers, email, chat systems, and streaming data.
• Expose agent workflows via well‑documented APIs or event‑driven services.
• Build reliable systems with caching, retries, observability and performance optimisation.
• Contribute to internal SDKs and frameworks to accelerate AI agent development.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to translate use cases into maintainable solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of professional Python experience, focusing on modern async and typed code.
• Proven experience building scalable backend APIs with frameworks such as FastAPI or Django.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Required skills

• Python (async, type‑hinted).
• FastAPI, Django.
• LLM agent patterns (ReAct, tool‑calling) and LangChain.
• Event‑driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Orchestration tools (Dagster, Airflow).
• Relational (PostgreSQL) and non‑relational databases (MongoDB, Redis, PgVector).
• CI/CD practices, Azure DevOps.
• Unit and integration testing.
