Senior FreeCAD Engineer - Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join our remote team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for creating, modifying, and validating detailed parametric CAD models that meet strict project specifications while ensuring manufacturability and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Create and refine parametric CAD models in FreeCAD according to project requirements.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies, applying best practices for component integration.
• Apply GD&T and Design for Manufacturing principles to guarantee part quality and production readiness.
• Produce clear technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and communicating issues.
• Utilize Python scripting to automate repetitive modeling tasks where possible.
• Collaborate with the team by providing feedback on model accuracy and design intent.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or a related field focused on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency with FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&T and DFM.
• Demonstrated ability to generate comprehensive technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience performing engineering QA and verifying model compliance with specifications.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills for remote collaboration.
