About the role
The United Nations Environment Programme seeks a consultant to design a national biodiversity coordination mechanism for Armenia. The assignment involves desk research, stakeholder engagement, and the preparation of legal and institutional recommendations.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive desk review of existing biodiversity and environmental coordination mechanisms in Armenia and relevant international models.
- Develop a Coordination Mechanism Concept document through structured stakeholder consultations, proposing options for an inter‑agency coordination body.
- Prepare a Legal Mapping Note identifying the legal and administrative acts required to establish the mechanism under Armenian law.
- Document stakeholder views in a consultation report covering coordination needs, institutional options, and governance design.
- Strengthen national institutional capacity for cross‑sectoral biodiversity coordination, supporting effective implementation of the NBSAP and related targets.
