Data Migration Specialist

About the role

The Data Migration Specialist will help automotive shops transition their data into the Shopmonkey platform, ensuring accurate migration of customer, vehicle, inventory, service history, and financial information. You will work closely with onboarding, customer success, support, and engineering teams to deliver a smooth migration experience.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full data migration lifecycle for new and existing customers.
• Analyze legacy shop management systems and map data to Shopmonkey structures.
• Build repeatable extraction and transformation workflows for high‑volume migrations.
• Clean, validate, and normalize shop data before migration.
• Execute migration plans aligned with onboarding timelines.
• Monitor data pipelines and resolve issues through root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Onboarding, Customer Success, Support, and Engineering to ensure data accuracy.
• Participate in testing and verification of migrated data with internal and shop stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation to support scalability and reduce onboarding time.
• Identify improvements to tools, automation, and workflows to increase reliability.

Required profile

• Familiarity with automotive shop operations, repair order workflows, inventory practices, and service writing.
• Strong understanding of relational data, ETL concepts, quality checks, and reconciliation methods.
• Experience working with SQL and scripting languages for data extraction and transformation.
• Ability to adapt to various legacy shop systems and data formats.
• Clear communication skills with both technical and non‑technical teams.
• Mindset focused on accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement.
• Fluency in English.
