Engineering Manager - Tabby Card Activation Team

About the role

Tabby, a FinTech with over 25 million users and over $18 billion in annual transaction volume for its partner brands, is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead its Tabby Card Activation team. The role combines strong technical expertise with people leadership: you will stay hands-on with the codebase while driving architectural decisions, engineering excellence and team development, working closely with Product and other cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large cross-team projects and drive them to production.
• Stay hands-on as a playing coach: write code, take part in architectural discussions and contribute to key technical decisions.
• Review feature designs and ensure non-functional requirements are met.
• Oversee technical debt management and incident handling.
• Promote the adoption of AI tools and practices across the SDLC and team processes.
• Contribute to quarterly planning and roadmap definition.
• Hire, evaluate, mentor and motivate team members.
• Foster cross-team collaboration, a results- and business-oriented culture, and monitor key team performance indicators.
• Ensure process and delivery transparency for stakeholders and partners, and optimize processes to improve productivity.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally including 2+ years of Golang (not a must).
• 2+ years as an Engineering Manager, preferably at a fast-growing fintech or e-commerce company.
• Experience building scalable, distributed systems and working with high-load architectures.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and contributing to product development.
• Strong communication skills in English; proactive and able to work independently.

Required skills

• Backend tools: PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, GitLab, microservices architecture.
• Clean, testable and maintainable code.
