Head of Building Materials Category

About the role

The Head of Building Materials Category will lead the development, profitability and strategic management of a specific product line within the company. You will ensure sustainable growth, competitiveness and balanced interests of the company, suppliers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct deep market research in both internal and external markets.
• Analyse competitors, pricing, assortment and offers.
• Define and continuously develop the product assortment for the category.
• Maintain existing supplier relationships and recruit new partners.
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best terms (prices, discounts, promotions).
• Set and control pricing policies, ensuring margin and profitability targets.
• Manage marketing budgets and trade assets such as POS materials.
• Develop and propose sales promotion activities and advertising campaigns.
• Provide accurate product information (descriptions, specifications, content data) to marketing and sales teams.
• Collaborate with related departments to drive category performance.
• Oversee warranty service processes and ensure proper product presentation at sales points.
• Monitor sales and key performance indicators, preparing regular reports on sales, margin and profitability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the construction or building‑materials sector with deep product knowledge.
• Strong understanding of market dynamics, demand and customer needs.
• Ability to balance the interests of the company, suppliers and customers.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
