Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer

About the role

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer will support the implementation and maintenance of the company’s HSE Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and local safety regulations. Reporting to the Global HSE Manager, the role is based on‑site in Jermuk and works closely with operations, maintenance and training teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular field safety inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Identify and mitigate workplace hazards in line with MSHA, OSHA and company standards.
• Participate in incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action development.
• Deliver safety meetings, toolbox talks and support training programmes.
• Monitor PPE usage and enforce safe work practices.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, registers and generate HSE reports for the Global HSE Manager.
• Provide on‑site inductions for employees and contractors.
• Assist in emergency response preparedness and drills.
• Manage contractor HSE compliance, including audits and risk‑assessment reviews.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of OSHA and MSHA regulations and related legislative requirements.
• Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 HSE management systems.
• Ability to conduct incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and produce lessons‑learned documentation.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification and control measures.
• Familiarity with maintaining critical HSE registers and environmental monitoring indicators.
