Junior Accountant

About the role

AMTJ LLC is looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join its Finance team. The role suits someone who wants to build strong practical accounting expertise and gradually take responsibility for a wider range of accounting processes. It is based in Yerevan on a 5-day week, 09:00-18:00.

Key responsibilities

• Record and process daily accounting transactions in line with accounting policies and applicable legislation
• Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records
• Process invoices, primary accounting documents, acts and other financial documentation
• Handle bank and cash transactions and ensure they are properly accounted for
• Monitor settlements with suppliers, customers and other counterparties
• Prepare and maintain accounting registers and supporting documentation
• Carry out account reconciliations and identify discrepancies
• Take part in monthly and annual closing
• Prepare analytical information and internal financial reports for management
• Support the preparation of tax and statutory reports
• Check the completeness and accuracy of primary documents and monitor document flow between branches, finance and other departments
• Participate in inventory and fixed asset accounting, and assist with payroll-related accounting
• Support internal and external audits and help resolve accounting discrepancies

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
• At least 1 year of relevant accounting experience
• Knowledge of Armenian tax and accounting legislation
• Attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to handle large volumes of information and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Required skills

• Practical experience with accounting software; knowledge of 1C is an advantage
• Good command of MS Excel
