QA Automation Engineer – IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate QA

About the role

JetBrains is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join the IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate QA team. You will help ensure the quality of the IDEA Ultimate product by designing, developing, and maintaining automated end‑to‑end tests across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test scenarios for Linux, Windows, macOS, Docker and WSL environments.
• Expand test coverage for new and existing functionality and reduce test flakiness.
• Debug, troubleshoot and investigate test failures, tracking quality metrics such as coverage and failure rates.
• Contribute to test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines and domain‑specific test infrastructure.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and other QA teams to define test strategies and participate in release quality assessments.
• Perform manual QA activities when required and help create test documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in building and maintaining automated test suites for complex software products.
• Ability to work across multiple operating systems and containerised environments.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
