Senior Database Administrator

About the role

Equiti, a fintech firm providing brokerage services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Database Administrator for its Engineering Platforms department in Yerevan. The role covers the administration, maintenance and performance of production and non-production databases.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain MySQL / MariaDB / PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments
• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot replication topologies (master-replica, Galera Cluster, streaming replication)
• Write and maintain SQL scripts and stored procedures for automation, data synchronization and reporting
• Perform query optimization, index tuning and performance analysis
• Manage backups, recovery and routine maintenance
• Collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams on database reliability, security and performance
• Monitor database health and assist with upgrades, migrations and patching

Required profile

• 2-4 years of hands-on experience with MySQL or MariaDB in production environments
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning
• Strong understanding of replication, Galera Cluster and high-availability configurations
• Comfortable working in Linux environments with basic shell scripting
• Analytical, collaborative and proactive, with good communication skills

Required skills

• Solid SQL scripting and query optimization
• Familiarity with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• Nice to have: exposure to Azure SQL Database or NoSQL (Cosmos DB, MongoDB); ClickHouse, Redis, Azure or GCP, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform or Ansible
