Senior Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a senior generalist engineer who will work across PHP, AngularJS, Go, Node, and SQL. The ideal candidate is strong in PHP, can quickly pick up Go and Node as needed, and is comfortable working on systems they did not originally write.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship features across the stack, including data models, APIs, and UI components.
• Help split the monolith into services by defining boundaries, planning data migrations, and rolling out changes without downtime.
• Modernize legacy code where it adds value and write short design docs for non‑trivial changes.
• Own shipped code through monitoring, alerts, and timely fixes.
• Design schemas, write efficient SQL queries, and build reports used by operators.
• Review code, mentor teammates, and contribute to overall code quality.

Required profile

• Solid experience building and running production software at a senior level.
• Strong PHP expertise with the ability to learn Go and Node quickly.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases, schema design, query performance, and live‑data migrations.
• Proven track record of incrementally improving large legacy codebases.
• Daily use of agentic AI coding tools and ability to demonstrate their workflow.
• Commitment to writing thorough tests, especially for money‑related, commission, and reporting logic.
• Ability to produce clear design documents, tickets, and PR descriptions.
• Effective communication with product, QA, and non‑technical stakeholders in English.
