Database Administrator - SQL Server

About the role

Broadridge Financial Solutions, a global fintech provider of technology, communications, data and analytics solutions for financial services firms, asset managers and public companies, is looking for a Database Administrator. The role covers the management, support, upgrade and monitoring of database environments supporting CQG applications, infrastructure systems and services, including backup and recovery standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor MS SQL transactional replication and SQL job executions, and take corrective action on problems
• Respond to ad hoc data requests from other teams
• Maintain and monitor database systems for optimal performance and availability
• Design, test and implement disaster recovery, backup and restore strategies, standards and scripts
• Maintain and improve reporting and business intelligence solutions
• Maintain and enforce corporate database security policies and controls
• Manage hardware requirements for production systems
• Troubleshoot networks, systems and applications to resolve database issues and assist developers, network administration and application support staff
• Deploy schema and data changes to production after preparation and testing by product development
• Optimize monitoring and execution of regular operational procedures
• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain database instances as needed

Required profile

• 4 years of experience in SQL Server database administration
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related business area
• Preferred: experience with high-transaction-volume databases in a fast-paced production environment
• Preferred: knowledge of Windows Server, security, network and application administration
• Experience with high-availability systems (7x24x365)
• Team-oriented approach within a production support team
