Graduate Engineer (Remote)

About the role

TuxCare, a provider of security solutions for Linux and open-source software, is looking for final-year students and recent graduates to join its engineering team. This is a paid, full-time graduate role, fully remote, where you will work on real products and learn alongside experienced engineers. No prior experience in the specific areas is required.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and test product features, security fixes and engineering tools
• Investigate unfamiliar code and understand how parts of a system interact
• Build and improve tools for verifying, testing and delivering software
• Automate engineering workflows
• Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions

Required profile

• Final-year student or recent graduate; open to those still completing their studies
• Strong analytical thinking, fundamentals in algorithms and data structures, and a structured approach to problems
• Ability to use AI tools to solve programming problems, judge their output and explain the solution
• Curiosity, independence, persistence and care for code quality
• Clear communication and English at B2 level or higher

Required skills

• Practical programming in at least one language such as C, C++, Python or Go
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent skills shown through projects and code
• Personal or academic software projects, open-source contributions, CTFs, hackathons or a homelab are a plus
